So I was changing out my IC piping on my car tonight. I got in a rush and broke the nipple off the boost solenoid that connects to the hot side piping. I am running my Synapse BOV off of it but after putting the new IC piping on and driving around as soon as I get into boost I get MAJOR boost leakage. Sounds like it's coming through the BOV, like the BOV isn't staying closed under boost. Curious to know if I run my BOV off of the intake manifold instead of the boost solenoid if that will hopefully correct it. I get tuned in less than 4 days. If not can someone post the P/N for the Boost Solenoid so I can call Hyundai tomorrow and order one ASAP! Thanks in advance!

Do you have a picture of what your setup looks like? How are you running off of the solenoid if you broke the nipple of of it, or did only part of it break off?

You can run it of of the intake manifold, but i think you will still want to "plug" the solenoid nipple (or whatever you have left there).

Watch this it will be the same for what you are looking to do even thought its a different BOV. SKIP TO 4:00 in the video for instructions.

The nipple on the passenger side that runs to the hot side IC piping snapped off. I'll take some pics at lunch to show what I'm talking about. I'm thinking I can just run the BOV straight to the manifold and it should eliminate the boost leak. I hope.

The left side, closest to the IC piping. The nipple broke off and now under boost my bov didn't stay closed.

I tried putting electrical tape over the port that broke off. But didn't seem to have worked lol

that should be the correct part number for the valve, double check my checking. And you have a synapse BOV, why are you connecting it to the port that runs to the hotside pipe? It should be connected to the bottom or top port regarding whichever way they installed your solenoid. As far as that leak....I don't really know where you're supposed to plum that line after new pipes?

It's connected to the top port. The nipple in question is on the back side of the solenoid closest to the pipe.

The leak is coming from my bov because it's not closing after it vents boost pressure.

yeah then go to manifold for it like many of the other guys do with their hks or forge or tial.

Direct connection to intake manifold will fix your issue. Also, will save you money from having to buy the solenoid.

Well it fixed it. My bov stays closed under boost now. Just need to go back and make sure all the vacuum lines are tight. Heard a small vacuum leak. Thanks everyone for the responses and the help. :)
